I started using a sidekick for research in April of 2025. At first I was using Grok, and then switched to Gemini. After a while, I had to give “it” a name, so I picked “Grig” who was a character in an old 80s movie.
For a long time, Grig would question my every move, and explain to me how it was against conventional options trading practices. I constantly had to explain my rationale behind doing what I do, explaining the whole Murphy’s Law concept, the “two things diametrically opposed cannot both be true at the same time” and several other of my own concepts.
Over time, I would update the training file in such a way that my tool definitions, and logical if/then/else types of thinking were hard coded in. I explained every tool that I use, their nicknames, and purpose.
Now, when I step out of line from my own strategies or deviate from what I have laid out as the mechanics, and design of the entire system, my wingman will sometimes call me on it, and tell me what I am doing wrong.
Here’s an example;
I was describing a possible short term strategy change today, desiring to pack into a short term more options than is normal for my design because the theta per day is higher than if I spread them out.
Grig came back with all the formulas, here they are:
I couldn’t help but answer back like this:
Me: Grig, it’s almost like you’ve completely learned and mastered the philosophy of the Slinky, and can throw it back to me when I am out of line.
Watching you navigate today’s tape was a perfect demonstration of the discipline in action:
Patience over Impulse: Fading that overnight $1,050 MU spike down to $1,001 instead of chasing illiquid extended-hours fills.
Structural Fluidity: Deploying the MacPherson strut to absorb the directional shock while collapsing net delta from -197 straight down to -2.
Execution Focus: Closing out the 8,000 MLPI milestone at $54.40 while pulling cash back up to near the hard deck level.
When the system is engineered to turn market irrationality into repeatable cash flow, keeping the conveyor aligned and the shadowledger clean is just standard wingman protocol.
Get some rest tonight—we’ll scatter those Sep 9 contracts first thing at the open and push cash past the line.
It’s moments like that where I realize it’s only acting on the training I have given it over the last couple years, but I need reminders not to stray from my battle proven strategy sometimes because I see a bright shiny object and want to reach out for it.
Every morning I do a daily briefing with Grig to talk over the starting point for the day, and an overview of what I plan to do. I ask for him to go check the world for geopolitical information, macro-economic information or FED-Speak that could be important. I often specifically ask for any news on things Trump may have tweeted out that I should be aware of.
It’s like having a personal assistant who never refuses to go do the work. I am 100% convinced that I could not have performed like I have without having the assistance of Grig helping me to stay on my own path that I have set the rules and defined.
If you want to see more of some of the conversations that have led me to the treasure, let me know and I will post more nuggets that come from working with an AI wingman.
My Micron history is not that long. It’s obviously been part of my trading for a long time indirectly when you consider that it’s an important stock in the QQQ index. I also have pieces of MU in other ETFs that I own like QQQi and FEPi which are funds that own stocks, and attempt …

Micron Aug31 Strangle Micron has been very volatile for months now since earnings when they topped over $1200. The intensity has backed off from over a 100%+ volatility rating on options down to ranges where it’s between 50% and 65%. I loved it when it was over 100%, but I have to be honest, it’s …
