Tesla as an investment is something I have always avoided. I never thought that it was worth the price, and honestly, I still don’t. I think the stock as a car maker is grossly over valued, the CEO is erratic, his political ties with Donald Trump cause nothing but mayhem, the investor base is largely fanatical, and TSLA options are extremely volatile.
For all of those reasons, I decided that it was time to see if I could trade this nightmare.
As always, one has to start with an initial position, short or long. On June 26th as I was wrapping up my 2024-2025 year end period, I began to setup positions that would setup my start to the new year July 1st 2025 and forward.
I started by selling some PUT options which is a bullish stance I will admit, but this is only because I didn’t want to start a position against TSLA going short right off the bat. This all took place when the price was closing the day at just under $326 per share.
I will update posts from time to time that document the wild ride that I anticipate this to be.
